PC Speed up tips

Speed up you internet:
Speed up your connectionsas long as its on an xp proIt works guys, as maybe some of you already know;Make sure your logged on as "Administrator".START/RUN/TYPE gpedit.mscexpand; LOCAL COMPUTER POLICYexpand; "administrative templatesexpand; "Network BranchHighlight the QOS Packet Scheduler in the left windowIn right window double click "Limit Reservable Bandwidth" settingOn settings tab check the "Enable"Where it says bandwidth limit % change it to 0Click apply, then ok, close down group policy and reboot reboot.

Speed up your pc:
Microsofts claim that Longhorn will be even faster is only because they have added a superfetch feature to the existing prefetcher.To get EXACTLY the same feature from your own XP version;
Got to run and typre regeditHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\SessionManagerAt this point you may find two SessionManager entries, you want the one with MemoryManagement\PrefetchParameters and on the right hand side double click on Enable Prefetcher and change the value to 1 from 3.
Now reboot.That's it you should now have the same speed as Longhorn.

Speed Up Firefox, browse faster than ever before
This will give you more speed when browsing.1. Type about:config into the address bar and hit return.2. Alter the entries as follows (by double clicking each entry):Set network.http.max-connections to 48Set network.http.max-connections-per-server to 24Set network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-proxy to 12Set network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-server to 6Set network.http.pipelining to trueSet network.http.proxy.pipelining to trueSet network.http.pipelining.maxrequests to 8. Any more and you may get banned from the site visited, as it may be viewed as DOS attack. Try a higher value say upto 32 but be prepared to lower the value if sites fail to load.3. Lastly right-click anywhere and select New -> Integer.Name it nglayout.initialpaint.delay and set its value to 0.This value is the amount of time (in milliseconds) the browser waits before it acts on information it recieves.If you're using a broadband connection you'll load pages 2-3 times faster now, even if a dial-up connection it will still be faster than before.

Clean out & speed up your pc:
Is your browser slower than a week in the Jail. Browser clunky and not performing. Then here si a method of clearing out the collected crap from a PC OFF the net; double click my computer, select your main drive letter(usually "C") right click, select properties, disk cleanup, follow this until completion, then it's into Internet Explorer, open this up while OFFLINE, select tools, and then internet options, from this point scrub your history and your cookies folders clean.If your running Firefox you go to tools, and then options, and from this point you can again clear out all your cache and cookies.If your running a different browser, you probably don't need this little tutorial.Next it's into DOS command, via start then run;type cmd(lower or upper case) then in the DOS command box type the following minus the punctuation marks "SFC/EXE", then type(noting lower case this time) "sfc/purgecache then press enter.Once this is complete type "exit" and press enter and this will bring you back to windows. Although you don't really need to come out of DOS for the next step I'm writing it this way to avoid confussion.Go to start, then run and again type cmd and press enter, this time type(without the punctuation marks)ipconfig/flushdns and press enter, it's possible you may get at this point a request to go into the internet, say yes to this and it will come back and tell you it is clear.Reboot your system and away you go with a faster and cleaner mean machine.
